Light and color are also big Feng Shui factors that can affect your overall wellness. The colors in your space should complement each other as this will bring a sense of cohesiveness and completion to the room. Try to stay away from harsh overhead lighting and opt for lamp light instead as this will create a calming effect in your space.

If the answer is no, then it is weighing the energetic wellness of their home down and should be donated so that the opportunity for it to spark joy for another can be created. This is a great way to achieve energetic wellness within your home and spread energetic wellness to others. We cannot recommend diving into Marie Kondo’s show enough. It’s a real game changer for at-home energetic wellness improvements. 

              

 

3.) Keep it Clean! 

During a time when viruses and bacteria are more of a threat than ever the hygienic upkeep of your home should totally be amp-ed up. You really can’t be too careful and the overall cleanliness of your home promotes positive energetic wellness. When it comes to cleaning products try and make your own in order to eliminate the chance of toxic chemicals. We mix 3-4 drops of eucalyptus, lemon, and orange essential oils into a spray bottle as an all purpose cleaner. Orange essential oil mixed with hot water is perfect for mopping your floors.

Probably the best tool in our energetic wellness arsenal is sage. Sage smudging is much more than a spiritual practice as it has antiviral and antibacterial properties. It is said to clear your space of negativity and is an ancient tool for energetic wellness. Sage can be found wild in some areas or it can be purchased online. We apply sage smudging to our energetic wellness practices after cleaning each space in our home.

CBD tinctures are also a great option for those not suffering from any specific symptoms but would like to keep their endocannabinoid system in balance. Another advantage to CBD tinctures is that their shelf life is considerably longer than CBD oil. The alcohol involved in the distillation of tinctures act as a preservative for the natural medication. 



Both of these great CBD options should be taken by sublingual absorption for optimum results. “Sounds affect your hormone secretions all of the time. Not only that they raise and lower your heart rate, affect your breathing, and your brain waves,” Julian Treasure informs us during his sensory triggering TED talk. The sound and communication expert focuses on causing different reactions to his audience by use of alarming and soothing sounds while he speaks. He explains that just as there are sounds that can quite effectively alert us, there are also tones at different frequencies that can actually lift our moods, calm our anxieties, and help us improve our emotional state. 

Researchers have found that focusing on two tones together that have frequencies of less than 1000 Hz can assist you in reaching a meditative mental state. Binaural beats are combined tones within this range that create this mental processing effect. Different combined tones of this nature can target and improve aspects of our mental, emotional, and physiological states. There are entire musical tracks out there that we’re going to share with you later that target altering your moods in the most positive ways. But first, we’re going to explain a bit more on which frequencies can affect you and how. 


  • Binaural beats in the delta (1 to 4 Hz) range have been associated with deep sleep and relaxation.
  • Tones in the theta (4 to 8 Hz) range are linked to REM sleep, reduced anxiety, relaxation, along with meditative states. These tones can also assist in helping the listener to feel more creative. We suggest combining these types of tones with one of your daily doses of CBD.
  • Tones in the alpha frequencies (8 to 13 Hz) are thought to promote positivity, and help the listener experience an uplifted shift in their overall mood. CBD would also work well in combination with listening to these tones.
  • Binaural beats in the lower beta frequencies (14 to 30 Hz) are wonderful for those trying to focus or deal with problem solving tasks. Tones within this range have even been known to help those struggling with memory issues.

     “The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude”, said Dennis S. Brown. Once upon a time. Somewhere. But sometimes, it’s just not that easy to be in a good mood. Between the rigors of every-day living and suddenly, a virus lurking behind each and every crevice on the planet, being in a good mood seems almost like some sick, twisted impossibility achieved only in the most optimistic of fairy tales. But fear not! Did you know certain foods actually have the ability to alter moods? Like, by a lot. 

     Now, the thing about the human mind, and body, is its ability to do just about anything.  With the exception of producing L-Tryptophan. It’s pretty bad at doing that considering well, it just can’t. And why does that matter? Well, L-Tryptophan, when processed in our bodies, converts to Serotonin, a crucial chemical known to aid with digestive health and overall well-being---or rather, “mood”. But if we can’t make it on our own, then we gotta’ get it from somewhere, right? And that’s where the “Mood Diet” comes into play! 

So let us take a look…

 

Eggs

        The yolks of eggs are full of L-tryptophan. If you aren't vegetarian, eggs are a great way to incorporate this much needed chemical into the first meal of the day. If what you're aiming for is a positive mood inducing meal, be sure to include the yolks. Egg whites don't contain half as much L-tryptophan as the yolk-y middle does. So, whichever way you prefer: Sunny-side up, scrambled, or fried, eggs are sure to keep you feeling happy and healthy. 

Tofu/Soy

       If you are vegetarian or vegan a wonderful source of L-tryptophan are tofu or soy food products. Tofu is a great protein substitute so whip up any of your favorite protein rich meals and throw in tofu as your meat alternative. Edamame is the perfect soy snack to munch on for a boost of l-tryptophan and miso soup is our favorite tofu meal when we're in need for some real feel good food.   

Salmon

      Salmon is a wonderful source of L-tryptophan and can be cooked or even eaten raw. Do you like sushi? Toss some salmon into your rolls to fill them with  l-tryptophan. If you're not a sushi fan, eating a nicely baked salmon filet will also give you everything your brain needs to produce serotonin. Salmon is one of the highest foods in l-tryptophan so whichever way you have it, it's definitely helping to enhance the way you feel. 

Seeds/Nuts

     Most seeds and nuts are full of this happy, natural chemical. Walnuts specifically have a ton of l-tryptophan. We suggest making a great trail mix full of walnuts and other seeds like chia seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds and pistachio nuts, all of which are full of what we need. Keeping a mix like this around can be really helpful when you need a mood boost. These seeds and nuts are also a great way to work l-tryptophan into your meals. 

CBD

     Along with all of the foods listed above, incorporating CBD into your daily regimen will aid in your body's production of serotonin. Researchers at the National Center for Biotechnology Information have recently found that when combined with CBD, the absorption of l-tryptophan is boosted significantly, aiding in the production of serotonin. The Mind Over Matter Workout

     What do you imagine when you reflect on what you know about meditation? Perhaps a person sitting cross-legged, eyes closed, humming, "OOOOOMMMM," kind of goofily? That visual tends to be the typical take-away of meditation in general. However, if you could see inside of the mind of a person meditating you would see an entire process of defined steps for a thorough mental exercise that aids in developing extreme control over thoughts.


     Meditation is the most effective practice currently known to help us achieve ultimate mind over matter ability. When you have a strong hold on what thoughts zip in and out of your mind you gain a controlled perspective in processing all life circumstances. What better time than now to begin exercising your mind in this way? So what are these steps that thoroughly re-route the brain into remaining calm and consistent during tumultuous times? Follow each one in this order:


Step 1: Shift your Mindset & Set Up Your Space


     In order to center your mind a bit before your practice we want to let you know how you can use CBD oil to expand your meditative benefits. Select the CBD product of your choice and be sure to take it 30 minutes before you meditate. This will allow any anxieties of the day to be calmed so that you can focus on finding your center. While you’re waiting for your CBD to settle in, you can set up a nice quiet space to focus on your meditative practice.

     Using incense or some type of aromatherapy is always beneficial as your sense of smell will be heightened while your eyes are closed. Adequate lighting is helpful also as it will help you access your third eye. After you feel comfortable in your space you’re ready to begin the steps that will lead to a successful practice.


Step 2: Find Your Posture


​     Being in the seated position with crossed legs and good posture is important for
every other step in the meditative process. Having a straight spine in a relaxed seated position aligns all chakras, (main energy centers along the spine) and provides clear oxygen flow to the brain. 

Those just beginning to explore meditation may find that maintaining this posture can be distracting from the rest of the process. I highly recommend using a wall as a brace to support the spine and head effortlessly. A pillow placed below the seat is recommended as it drops the knees downward allowing the spine straighter alignment.


Step 3: Access Your Third Eye


     Once you are seated comfortably it is time to access your third eye. This is done by closing the eyes and directing your gaze upward between your eyebrows. You will see the visual of a round space slightly illuminated by light. In order to check if it is in fact your third eye you can place two fingers on top of your forehead where this visual is located and you will find that it disappears as you have blocked the outside light from illuminating it.

     This powerful space in the forehead that can detect light sources is your third eye and the point you will focus on during the entirety of your meditative practice. The more you evolve your practice the easier it will become to maintain your gaze on this focal point for long periods of time.


Step 4: Counting Your Breaths


     After settling in on the first two steps begin to notice your breath. Let the rhythm of breathing flow naturally and then start counting each inhale and exhale all the way up to 10. For example: Inhale, (1) Exhale, (2) Inhale, (3)...and so on. You will count this way until you reach 10 and then you will start over again at one.


Step 5: Clear Your Mind


     The only time you will veer from this pattern of counting and breathing is if you find that thoughts beyond counting begin to come in. This is very common while evolving your practice. The second you recognize any thoughts coming in begin counting your breaths at 1 again. You may find yourself only getting to 2 and having to start over. You may not reach 10 for an entire meditative session. This is totally okay and simply just you training your mind to have control over your thoughts. It isn't easy! The idea is to not be hard on yourself and embrace the process entirely. Keep it up and you will definitely reach the ability to center your mind on the process and clear your head of thoughts.

     This practice will allow your brain much needed rest that we aren't able to receive even during sleep. Meditation reduces anxiety greatly and can gradually resolve depression. It improves sleep and once you find a flow in your practice you can move on to different forms of meditation that improve different issues.
